Bobby Jasoos Movie Review: Watch it for Vidya Balan!

Bobby Jasoos Movie Review
Film: Bobby Jasoos

Director: Samar Shaikh

Cast: Vidya Balan, Ali Fazal, Kiran Kumar, and Rajendra Gupta
Directed by Samar Shaikh, the flick will have Vidya in a very different role. Women centric films are Vidya’s USP and this detective comedy is in no way different. Ali Fazal, who earlier starred in hit films like ‘3 idiots’ and ‘Fukrey’, plays the male lead.

The film is co-produced by actress Dia Mirza and her beau Sahil Sangha.

Storyline: ‘Bobby Jasoos’ is the story of Bilqis Ahmed aka Bobby (Vidya Balan), who dreams of becoming a private detective. But her family differs from her opinion. They believe girls from this humble locality in Hyderabad don't do such outrageous things. But Bobby has a different perspective altogether. Bobby shares a brittle relationship with a television journalist Tssavur (Ali Fazal). The story focuses on how she accomplishes her goal amid all hurdles and her relationship with Tssavur.

Review: ‘Bobby Jasoos’ is a must watch movie as Vidya has done an outstanding role of a Hyderabadi woman. With her impeccable timing, faultless dialogue delivery in Hyderabadi dialect and her acting skills, Vidya just nails her goofy free-spirited character. The awesome chemistry between Vidya and Ali Fazal not for a minute appears unreal or manipulated. The style of romance between the two will surely be fresh for the viewers. Though the film belongs to Vidya, Ali makes his own space with pride, confidence and his acting skills. There are no item numbers, cheap thrills and the usual trappings of a wannabe blockbuster. It just has Vidya and that should be the reason enough for cine-buffs to go and watch the film.

I don't miss working with Khans: Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan
Vidya, who will be seen sharing the screen space with actor Ali Fazal in detective thriller 'Bobby Jasoos', said she is not keen on doing it either as she does not see herself fitting into 'masala commercials'.

"I don't miss working with them. There has to be a script that has enough for me to do... It has to be exciting for me. I have never looked for films where I can work with certain actors,” Vidya said.

"I have not really got offers ...not in the past seven years. I don't see myself fitting into those kinds of films honestly," she added.

The actress further said, “I have never planned my career.. I have only responded to scripts that came my way. To be working with actors or new actors, I don't plan my career that way. I have a different approach. And I am very happy with the kind of work I am doing.”

Meanwhile, there are rumours that the biopic on legendary Carnatic singer M S Subbulakshmi, which Vidya will be doing is in some legal trouble.

"I have no information on that. In the past one year, it has been put on hold. So, I don’t know what is the status," she said.

After Bobby Jasoos, the actress will be next seen in director Mohit Suri's 'Humari Adhuri Kahaani' with Emraan Hashmi and Rajkumar Rao.

"I have not started any preparations for this film yet. Once 'Bobby Jasoos' is out, after that I will begin work on that," she said.
