This is the second supercomputer that has been developed by the prestigious institute.
According to sources, the supercomputer has been launched after extensive testing conducted by a seasoned team headed by IIT Kanpur’s deputy director SC Srivastava.
The machine was assembled by a team of engineers at IIT-Kanpur under Srivastava’s guidance. It was unveiled by Srivastava along with the head of the Computer Centre, Ashish Dutta.
The supercomputer would be used for education, research and training. It is needless to say that the whole institution is excited with the latest feat.
Supercomputers are generally used in many areas of science and engineering research. The general area of research that uses supercomputers is called High Performance Computing (HPC).
