बॉलीवुड में सलमान खान का कितना जबरदस्त खौफ है, इसका एक नजारा कल देखने को मिला, जब कट्रीना कैफ के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन करने जा रही सिने कॉस्ट्यूम एंड मेकअप आर्टिस्ट्स एसोसिएशन ने सलमान के डर की वजह से अपना प्रदर्शन टाल दिया।

दरअसल कट्रीना कैफ से एसोसिएशन की नाराजगी उनके मेकअप की वजह से है। फैंटम फिल्म के लिए कट्रीना के मेकअप का जिम्मा इंटरनेशनल मेकअप आर्टिस्ट डेनियर बॉअर के पास है। मुंबई में सिर्फ उन्हीं मेकअप आर्टिस्ट को काम करने की इजाजत नहीं हैं, जो एसोसिएशन में रजिस्टर्ड नहीं है।

इसी वजह से फिल्मिस्तान स्टूडियो में एसोसिएशन के लोग कट्रीना के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन करने गए थे। फैंटम की शूटिंग फिल्मिस्तान स्टूडियो में कल सुबह दस बजे शुरू हुई और विरोध जताने के लिए आर्टिस्ट तुरंत पहुंच गए। लेकिन एक खबरी के मुताबिक, सलमान के डर की वजह से इन आर्टिस्ट ने अपना प्रदर्शन टाल दिया। इससे पहले जून में जब इस एसोसिएशन ने विरोध जताया था तो सलमान खान ने मामला सुलझाया था।

सिने कॉस्ट्यूम एंड मेकअप आर्टिस्ट्स एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष शरद शेलर ने इस खबर की पुष्टि की। शरद ने बताया, 'हां आर्टिस्ट डेनियल बॉअर के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन करने गए फिल्मिस्तान गए थे। लेकिन कोई भी प्रदर्शन करने के लिए आगे नहीं आया क्योंकि सबको डर था कि सलमान भाई दोबारा इस मामले में आ जाएंगे। हम जल्दी ही एक मीटिंग करके तय करेंगे कि उन आर्टिस्ट को काम करने से कैसे रोका जाए, जो रजिस्टर्ड नहीं हैं।'

Film makers would get 2 crore to shoot their movie in UP

सपा सरकार एक बार फिर फिल्म नीति में बदलाव करेगी। अब यूपी में फिल्म शूट करने पर दो करोड़ की आर्थिक मदद दी जाएगी। फिल्म में यदि राज्य के कलाकार होंगे तो 25 लाख रुपये की अतिरिक्त मदद भी मिलेगी। नीति में बदलाव से प्रदेश में फिल्म उद्योग के फलने-फूलने की आस बढ़ी है।

फिल्म उद्योग की स्थापना के लिए सुविधाएं देने की कई बार घोषणा की गई, लेकिन राज्य में फिल्म उद्योग पनप नहीं सका। मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव ने फिर वर्ष 2001 में जारी फिल्म नीति में संशोधन करने का फैसला किया है। सूत्रों का कहना है कि ऐसी फिल्म जिसकी 75 प्रतिशत शूटिंग उत्तर प्रदेश में होगी, उसके निर्माता को दो करोड़ रुपये का अनुदान दिया जाएगा। अब तक अधिकतम एक करोड़ रुपये का अनुदान दिया जाता है। फिल्म की प्रोसेसिंग प्रदेश में कराने पर 25 लाख और दिए जाएंगे।

प्रमुख सचिव सूचना नवनीत सहगल ने बताया कि राज्य में बनारस, आगरा, लखनऊ, इटावा, कन्नौज, मथुरा, इलाहाबाद, चित्रकूट, नोएडा, चंदौली, फैजाबाद, विंध्याचल, सोनभद्र में शूटिंग के लिए शानदार लोकेशन उपलब्ध है। कई फिल्मों की शूटिंग चल भी रही है। कुछ और फिल्म निर्माता राज्य में फिल्म शूट करने के इच्छुक हैं। फिल्म नीति में बदलाव का प्रस्ताव जल्द ही कैबिनेट के सामने रखा जाएगा।

हाल में यूपी में आदित्‍य रॉय कपूर और परिणीति चोपड़ा की फिल्‍म दावत-ए-इश्‍क की शूटिंग हुई है। यहां इश्‍क के परिंदे फिल्‍म की शूटिंग भी चल रही है।

नहीं मिल सकी रफ्तार: 1975 में वीपी सिंह सरकार ने उप्र में चलचित्र निगम की स्थापना की थी। तीन लाख रुपये अधिकतम मदद की घोषणा हुई थी। बाद में चलचित्र निगम बंद हो गया। फिर भाजपा सरकार के मुख्यमंत्री राम प्रकाश गुप्ता ने फिल्म बंधु की स्थापना की। शत्रुघ्न सिन्हा अध्यक्ष बनाए गए। बाद में अनुपम खेर अध्यक्ष बने। सपा सरकार में राज्यसभा सदस्य जया बच्चन फिल्म बंधु की अध्यक्ष बनीं। मायावती सरकार में यशवंत निकोसे फिल्म को अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया, लेकिन फिल्म उद्योग को रफ्तार नहीं मिल सकी।

Mohenjo-Daro will be released out on 22nd January, 2016

रितिक रोशन स्टारर और आशतोष गोवरीकर निर्देशित फिल्म 'मोहनजोदड़ो' को देखने के लिए अभी आपको लंबा इंतजार करना पड़ेगा। बॉलीवुड की सबसे महंगी फिल्म बताई जा रही मोहदजोदड़ो 22 जनवरी 2016 को रिलीज होगी।

आधिकारिक तौर पर इस फिल्म का बजट पता नहीं चल पाया है, लेकिन सूत्रों के मुताबिक रितिक रोशन इस फिल्म में काम करने के बदले 50 करोड़ रुपए की मोटी रकम लेंगे। अभी तक एक फिल्म के लिए इतनी फीस बॉलीवुड में किसी स्टार को नहीं मिली है।

ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि पर आधारित होने के चलते इस फिल्म के सेट्स और शूटिंग पर भी बहुत मोटा खर्च होने का अनुमान है। खबर है कि यूटीवी फिल्म की शूटिंग शुरू होने से पहले ही इसके राइट्स 125 करोड़ रुपए की मोटी रकम में खरीद चुका है। इन्हीं बातों से अंदाया लगाया जा रहा है कि मोहनजोदड़ो बॉलीवुड की सबसे महंगी फिल्म होगी।

इस फिल्म में रितिक रोशन के साथ पूजा हेगड़े नजर आएंगी। 23 वर्षीय पूजा की यह पहली हिंदी फिल्म होगी। मोहनजोदड़ो का पहला शेड्यूल दक्षिण अफ्रीका में अक्टूबर से शूट किया जाएगा।

Preity-Ness case: Cops probe mafia threats to Wadia clan

The Mumbai police Crime Branch is probing a complaint about alleged mafia threats to well-known industrialist Nusli Wadia related to a complaint filed against his son Ness by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, officials said here Wednesday.

An aide to the 70-year-old Nusli Wadia Monday received calls and a message purportedly from absconding gangster Ravi Pujari, following which a complaint was lodged with the N.M. Joshi March Police Tuesday.

The message warned the industrialist that his "business will be in trouble" if the actress was harassed.

"Don't run around Preity Zinta. Give my message to Wadia, otherwise his business will be in trouble," said the message to the aide, which was given to police in the complaint.

However, the aide's name has not been revealed by the police, nor the fact whether the phone belonged to him or to a member of the Wadia clan.

The crime branch sleuths are now investigating the genuineness of the caller's claim that he was gangster Pujari or his henchman, and the source of the call...

Parineeti Chopra to romance Saif Ali Khan in her next

Parineeti Chopra is over the moon as she has signed film with the Nawab and Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. She admits that she has a huge crush on the actor and now a film opposite him really excites her. Infact, Kareena Kapoor is also thrilled with the pairing as she loves Parineeti’s spontaneity in ‘Ishaqzaade’.

The film in question is a rom-com and revolves around two mismatched people and how they find love in extreme circumstances.

Speaking about Saif, Parineeti said, “I’ve been a Saif Ali Khan fan for years. He makes me go weak in the knees.”

Talking about the film, Parineeti says, “Yes, I’m doing a film with Saif. Even as I say it I find it hard to believe. It will be produced by Saif’s production house Illuminati. What is most interesting is that Saif’s partner Dinesh Vijan will turn director with the film starring Saif and me. So I’ve double reason to be happy and excited.”

This would be a Parineeti Chopra’s first movie with any Khan and this add more to the pleasure of signing the film.
“So far I’ve only worked with the younger heroes, practically all of them from Ranveer to Sushant to Aditya Roy Kapur. This is my first film with a Khan superstar. Hopefully I’ll get to do work with the other Khans after this.”

Parineeti will be next seen in 'Daawat-E-Ishq' and 'Kill Dil' while Saif's next release is 'Humshakals'.

Hrithik Roshan's fast & furious move

Hrithik Roshan has given his consent to collaborate with Hollywood director Rob Cohen in his next which will be set in India.

His May 2010 release Kites was supposed to be his stepping stone to Hollywood and now Hrithik Roshan seems set to finally make a splash in the West. On June 4, Hrithik Roshan refuelled the crossover rumours when he and his parents (Rakesh and Pinky Roshan) were spotted dining with Hollywood filmmaker Rob Cohen in Mumbai.

Mirror has it that Cohen visited Mumbai to cast Hrithik in his next venture and the actor has said `Yes'.

The filmmaker, who has helmed hits like The Fast and the Furious and XXX, had a long chat with Hrithik about the film, an action flick which will be shot in India.

The film will also star a parallel male lead which will be played by a Hollywood actor and Cohen will make another visit to the country, when he is ready with the final script.

A source close to the development told Mirror, "Cohen had made a few earlier trips to Mumbai and met Hrithik. This one finalised the deal."

This will be Hrithik's first Hollywood flick but the 40-year old star is already quite popular in Hollywood.

For one, Twilight star Kristen Stewart had reportedly confessed that if ever she had a baby boy, she would want him to look like Hrithik Roshan but with then boyfriend Robert Pattinson's eyes...

Movie review: Holiday – A soldier is never off duty

He's an army guy, never ever off duty. Even when his family drags him straight from his arrival train, to 'see a ladki for shaadi', he's in his camouf lage muftis. He rejects the girl because she's too 'delicate' for him. Until he sees her boxing and playing games.

‘Miss Lovely’ to release in US theatres

Ashim Ahluwalia’s National award-winning film ‘Miss Lovely’ is set to release in the US theatres on June 6. Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anil George and Niharika Singh in the lead roles, the film made its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2012 Cannes film festival.

‘Miss Lovely’ goes back to the Mumbai of the 1980s when C-grade cinema, with its mix of horror and porn, was booming. The story is told through two brothers Sonu (Siddiqui) and Vicky (Anil George), who are prolific producers of such films but their partnership is put to the test when the brothers meet Pinky, who is running away from a shady past.

Ashim who will be in the US to promote the film says, “Miss Lovely is quite a wild film.” “It challenges the definition of what an Indian film can be, so I’m really happy that US audiences will get a chance to watch it in cinemas. I’m thrilled to be working with Film Buff and Dada Films to find novel ways of getting new global cinema out there. It’s great to have partners that understand the power of what cinema can do, and are ready to stick by that.”

DADA Films will initially release the movie in the seven American cities- Seattle, New York, San Jose, California, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, which will be followed with an expansion. While FilmBuff is planning to release the film on the digital platforms of the US like iTunes, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and Google Play...

Kareena Kapoor to have meaty role opposite Akshay in 'Singh Is Bling'

Kareena Kapoor has been offered the lead opposite Akshay Kumar in Prabhudheva's much talked-about project "Singh Is Bling".

The actress, who is also on the verge of signing films with Sujoy Ghosh (in the title role of Durga Rani Singh) and Bejoy Nambiar, says she is spoilt for choice.

When asked if Kareena would have much to do in a film where Akshay Kumar plays the title role, Prabhudheva said: "The heroines in my film always have their own space in the plot. Was Sonakshi Sinha in 'Rowdy Rathore' or 'R... Rajkumar' just a decorative doll? No way! My films may be titled after the hero, but the heroine has no reason to complain."

One hopes Kareena Kapoor is sufficiently reassured.

Incidentally, Kareena and Akshay make a really hot pair in theory.

But strangely, excluding Abbas-Mustan's "Aetraaz", all their big-ticket films together like "Ajnabee", Suneel Darshan's "Talaash", Dharmesh Darshan's "Bewafaa", Sabbir Khan's "Kambakkht Ishq" have collapsed at the box office.

Mita Vashisth in Jodha Akbar

Mita Vashisth has been finalised to play the role of Maha Chuchak in Jodha Akbar. Earlier, several actresses including Urvashi Dholakia and Meghna Malik had been considered for the role. Maha Chuchak will be shown to be a power-hungry woman, who has her eye on Akbar's throne. Says Mita, "I have been told she has a reference in history. The character is completely unsual and I am looking forward to playing it.

She will come in as major antagonist creating trouble in Akbar's life." Mita, however, is waiting for a detailed narration from producer Ekta Kapoor for the role. "I will be meeting her soon. Ekta is very good at giving the finer nuances, the tone and rhythm of the character. I remember when I played Trishna in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, it was after Ekta gave a clue to the character, that I took off," says Mita, who has already played characters with grey shades in the past. 

Maha Chuchak will however be her first stong negative character. "I like the large vision they are giving to the character," smiles the actress who had played a seductive siren in Swabhimaan and recently shot for an episode of Encounter, where she is essaying a powerful role that of the head of a family based in Bihar, known for their underworld activities...

After Paa, get ready to be surprised by Amitabh Bachchan's look in Shamitabh

You saw it here first. Amitabh Bachchan, known for changing his looks to suit the character, has gone grey and haggard on us in R Balki's curiously titled Shamitabh.

He was spotted shooting at Mumbai Lokhandwala Gardens on May 31 in this get-up. He was sporting grey hair and beard.

Amitabh had earlier tweeted about the "long and ardous" look test he had to undergo for the film. The Paa artist is back at work with Shamitabh.

Balki said about the film, "We are happy to announce that the film is titled Shamitabh. We are halfway through the shoot of the film, so I will finish that and then talk more about it. Right now, I'm enjoying watching the lethal combo of the intensity of Amitabh Bachchan, the intelligence of Dhanush, and the innocence of Akshara (Haasan)."

Big B and Balki have earlier worked together in Cheeni Kum (2007) and Paa (2009). While he sported a neat little ponytail in Cheeni Kum, he had used prosthetic make-up in Paa...

Arrest warrant issued against Sanjay, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone

These warrants were issued based on a complaint case under various sections of the IPC filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha in November last year which alleged that few scenes in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court had stopped the release of the movie till November 22, 2013 but it was released here on November 12 itself.

The CJM took cognisance of the case on February 14 this year and summoned the actors and the director, who did not turn up following which today the warrants were issued...

Distancing myself from the cinema in the 90s was a mistake: Amitabh Bachchan

Even after his prolific four decades in the Bollywood, megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he still gets cold feet before the release of his films.

"We are always anxious about every product that we do. It is like an examination for us, a test and we are anxious to know whether the work we have done is appreciated by the audiences or not," Bachchan, who is here to attend the third Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), told PTI.

The 71-year-old actor, who had taken a sabbatical from work in the 1990s, feels that distancing himself from cinema was a mistake.

"I thought on those lines few years ago back in 90s which was a mistake. I shouldn't have done that. Now I want to continue," he said.

Fresh from his last release, 'Bhootnath Returns', a sequel to 2008 horror-comedy of the same name, Bachchan is gearing up for a busy year as he has three films on his plate, along with TV shows...

Dia Mirza, who underwent a surprising engagement in the USA on Tuesday, was caught completely off guard by her boyfriend filmmaker Sahil Sangha’s plans.

Speaking a day after the surprise announcement, Dia says, “I had no clue this was coming. Sahil took me completely by surprise. It was the most memorable moment of my life. Getting engaged to the man I love has to be the most magical experience of my life so far. I am still swimming in the clouds.”

Contrary to some reports the engagement did not happen at Tampa Bay during an awards event. Sahil popped the question to Dia in New York.

Explaining the selection of venue for the magical moment Dia says, “New York City has been the host to many turning points in Sahil’s life. He chose his favourite city for our golden moment. And I am happy that he did.”

Arshad Warsi gets injured on film set

Actor Arshad Warsi is recovering from a head injury while shooting for his upcoming film 'The Legend of Michael Mishra'.

Warsi, 45, took to Twitter to inform his fans that he is doing well after the injury and is under observation of doctors.

"Big thank you to all of you who care for me. I am fine and under observation. All I can say is I was very lucky, I think God really loves me. Had a nasty fall on my head...," Warsi tweeted.

The actor, best known for his stint as Circuit in 'Munnabhai' series, will be next seen in the titular character of Michael Mishra in 'The Legend of Michael Mishra'.

Directed by 'Matrubhoomi-A Nation Without Women' helmer Manish Jha, the comic film also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Boman Irani in prominent roles.

Naseeruddin Shah hits out at opponents of India-Pakistani cultural exchange

Slamming those who are against cultural exchanges between India and Pakistan in the wake of diplomatic tensions, veteran film and theatre actor Naseeruddin Shah Monday said a section of Indians do not reciprocate the "tremendous" fascination and curiosity of the neighbours for the country.

"What I found is that there is a tremendous fascination, there is a tremendous curiosity about us in Pakistan...we do not reciprocate that...we are condescending about that ...I say they (those who are against cultural exchange) can go take a hike...I intend to continue whatever I can do in developing person to person contact," he said during a session at the third Kolkata Literary Meet here.

Nasseruddin strongly iterated about furthering "person to person contact" through his craft. The actor has conducted numerous workshops for budding artists across the border and has also starred in the Pakistani film "Zinda Bhaag".

"We seem to carry it with us all this way and its time we got rid of it and there`s nothing we can do except further and encourage person to person contact...so I will continue to go there. Read more..

In her defence, the actress says that she was offered two scripts a week and it’s not possible to say yes to all. “I told Shoojit sir that I would love to shoot for his film if there’s any chance of making the film but I think they have already blocked the dates of Mr Bachchan and Irrfan for this year. I am still hoping with all my heart that I can still be a part of it. I can do maximum two-to-three films in a year as we take three months to complete the shooting for a film. Also, I prep a lot on every film of mine before it starts and that’s how I managed to win the awards last year. I want to continue doing that. Unfortunately, I can’t spare now 15-20 days a month to prep as I am busy 18 hours a day. It’s so sad when people say I have an attitude problem. Anybody who knows me will vouch that I’m not that kind of person. People don’t know the kind of hours I am putting in every day. In the day I shoot for Daawat-E-Ishq, evening I go for Hasee Toh Phasee promotions and at night I am dubbing again for Kill Dill. The last time I had a day off was in August last year. I have been working every single day and if that’s translated as having an attitude problem, it’s fine because I just can’t please everybody! I work very hard to finish all my projects.”

The actress stresses that the criteria for signing a film for her is the script, role and the director. In that order. “I am the only actress today who doesn’t allow a manager to read my scripts. Any director or producer can approach me directly when they have a script. I don’t involve my managers as I feel that’s being starry. I meet so many senior directors on my own.
