JD(U)’s Sharad Yadav slams Cong over ‘graduate’ remark against Smriti Irani

JD(U) on Wednesday slammed the Congress for taking pot-shots at the Narendra Modi government over its remarks against HRD Minister Smriti Irani.

“I condemn such a statement…The criticism of Irani over her educational degree must stop. Her work and not her educational qualification should be discussed.

He was addressing the media after a meeting of the party office bearers to take stock of the crushing defeat of JD(U) in Lok Sabha polls in Bihar in which the party was reduced from its tally of 20 seats in 2009 to a mere two in 2014.

Attacking Irani over her educational qualifications, Congress leader Ajay Maken had tweeted on Tuesday, “What a Cabinet of Modi? HRD Minister (Looking after Education) Smriti Irani is not even a graduate! Look at her affidavit at ECI site pg 11″...
