Hamas, Israel Agree To 72-Hour Ceasefire

गाजा में पिछले 24 दिनों से जारी संघर्ष में शुक्रवार को 72 घंटे का विराम लग गया। इजरायल और हमास दोनों आज सुबह आठ बजे से 72 घंटे के संघर्ष विराम के लिए सहमत हो गए हैं। इस दौरान इजरायल की सेना गाजा के जिन इलाकों में है वहीं रहेगी। संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के महासचिव बान की मून ने यह जानकारी दी।

गौरतलब है कि इजरायल और गाजा के बीच संघर्ष में अबतक 1360 से अधिक फलस्तीनियों के मारे जाने की खबर है, जिनमें से अधिकांश नागरिक हैं। इस संघर्ष में 58 इजरायली भी मारे गए हैं। इससे पहले मिस्र ने भी अमेरिका के साथ मिलकर इजरायल और हमास के बीच संघर्ष विराम के लिए प्रयास किया था, लेकिन वे इसमें सफल नहीं हुए थे। आपको बता दें कि इजरायल ने गाजा से होने वाले रॉकेट हमले रोकने के लिए सैन्य कार्रवाई शुरू की थी। लेकिन बाद में उसने अपनी कार्रवाई का विस्तार करते हुए फलस्तीनी आतंकी गुट हमास की सुरंगों को नष्ट करना प्रारंभ किया। इनमें से कुछ का प्रयोग आतंकियों ने इजरायल पर हमले के लिए किया था। इजरायल के प्रधानमंत्री बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू ने अपने एक बयान में कहा था कि उनका देश संघर्ष विराम के प्रयासों पर ध्यान दिए बिना इन सुरंगों को नष्ट करके ही दम लेगा।

इजरायल ने गाजा में फलस्तीनी आतंकी संगठन हमास के सुरंगों को नष्ट करने की कमस खाई है। उसने कहा है कि वह तब तक संघर्ष विराम नहीं करेगा जब तक ये सभी सुरंगें नष्ट नहीं हो जातीं। गाजा में हमले तेज करने के लिए उसने अपने 16 हजार और रिजर्व सैनिकों को ड्यूटी पर बुला लिया है। गाजा में पिछले 24 दिनों से जारी इजरायली कार्रवाई में अब तक 1374 से अधिक फलस्तीनी मारे गए हैं, जिनमें से अधिकांश नागरिक हैं।

इजरायल ने गाजा से होने वाले रॉकेट हमले रोकने के लिए सैन्य कार्रवाई शुरू की थी। लेकिन बाद में उसने अपनी कार्रवाई का विस्तार करते हुए हमास की सुरंगों को नष्ट करना प्रारंभ किया। इनमें से कुछ का प्रयोग आतंकियों ने इजरायल पर हमले के लिए किया था। इजरायल के प्रधानमंत्री बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू ने कहा है कि उनका देश संघर्ष विराम के प्रयासों पर ध्यान दिए बिना इन सुरंगों को नष्ट करके ही दम लेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इजरायल ने दर्जनों सुरंगों को नष्ट कर दिया है और चाहे संघर्ष विराम हो या नहीं हो दोनों में स्थितियों में हम शेष बची सुरंगों को भी नष्ट कर देंगे। विश्व नेताओं द्वारा संयम बरतने की अपील किए जाने के बावजूद इजरायल की कैबिनेट ने बुधवार रात को गाजा में हमले जारी रखने को मंजूरी दी। इजरायल के नए आदेश के बाद ड्यूटी पर बुलाए गए रिजर्व सैनिकों की कुल संख्या 86 हजार हो गई है। इजरायली हमले से गाजा के पास के क्षेत्र खंडहर में तब्दील हो गए हैं। इस संघर्ष में 58 इजरायली भी मारे गए हैं।

सैन्य कार्रवाई जारी रखने के निर्णय के बावजूद इजरायल ने मिस्र एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल भेजा है। मिस्र ने अमेरिका के साथ मिलकर इजरायल और हमास के बीच संघर्ष विराम के लिए प्रयास किया था, लेकिन वे इसमें सफल नहीं हुए। वहीं मानवाधिकार के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र उच्चायुक्त नवी पिल्ले ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून की अनदेखी करने पर इजरायल की आलोचना की है। उनका कहना है कि इजरायल ने गाजा के संघर्ष के दौरान जान बूझकर अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून की अनदेखी की है।

Divided US chamber approves lawsuit against Obama

अमेरिकी संसद के निचले सदन हाउस ऑफ रिप्रेजेंटेटिव ने बंटा होने के बावजूद रिपब्लिकन के उस प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी जिसमें राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा पर मुकदमा चलाने की बात कही गई है। ओबामा पर 2010 में हेल्थ केयर कानून लागू करने में अपनी संवैधानिक शक्तियों के दुरुपयोग का आरोप लगाया गया है।

सदन में बहुमत वाली रिपब्लिकन पार्टी द्वारा पेश किया गया प्रस्ताव बुधवार को 201 के मुकाबले 225 मतों से पारित हुआ। इस पर ओबामा ने कहा कि यह समय की बर्बादी है। सांसदों को अमेरिकी लोगों के लिए अन्य महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर समय देना चाहिए। उन्होंने इसे राजनीतिक तमाशा करार दिया और कहा कि उन्होंने खुद कार्रवाई की क्योंकि कांग्रेस (संसद) उनकी सहायता के लिए कुछ नहीं कर रही। सभी रिपब्लिकन सांसद ओबामा के हेल्थ केयर कानून का विरोध कर रहे हैं। उनका कहना है कि ओबामा ने स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं में फेरबदल कर संवैधानिक शक्तियों का उल्लंघन किया है। उन्होंने ओबामा पर अवैध तरीके से कानून में बदलाव करने का आरोप लगाया है। रिपब्लिकनों का कहना है कि उन्होंने कई अवसरों पर कांग्रेस को सूचित नहीं किया। जैसे अमेरिकी सैनिक बेर्गेडेल को छोड़ने के बदले क्यूबा की ग्वांतानामो बे जेल से पांच तालिबान कैदियों की रिहाई के बारे में जानकारी नहीं दी गई। जबकि ह्वाइट हाउस और डेमोक्रेट सांसदों ने कहा कि उनकी कार्रवाई वैध है और उन्होंने अपनी शक्तियों के दायरे में ही रहकर काम किया है।

लंदन के रायल कालेज ऑफ आर्ट्स के एक स्नातक ने इंसान को अंतरिक्ष में बसने का रास्ता दिखा दिया है। जुलियन मेलकियोरी ने पौधे की कोशिका में पाए जाने वाले क्लोरोप्लास्ट से विशाल आकार की पत्ती का सृजन किया है।

इन पत्तियों को सिल्क प्रोटीन के संजाल से बांधा या गुथा गया है। लेकिन ये प्रकाश संष्लेषण की प्रक्रिया में वातावरण में ऑक्सीजन छोड़ती हैं। कृत्रिम रूप से बनाई गई ये पत्तियां एकदम प्राकृतिक पौधे या पत्ती की ही तरह जीवित है। ये पत्तियों की ही तरह सांस लेती है और प्राणवायु देती हैं।

जुलियन मेलकियोरी का दावा है कि उन्होंने पहला फोटोसिंथेटिक पदार्थ तैयार किया है जो सामान्य पौधों की ही तरह वातावरण में ऑक्सीजन छोड़ता है।

अंतरिक्ष में इंसान को लंबे समय तक आक्सीजन मुहैया कराने का ये अहम स्त्रोत बन सकता है। इतना ही इसके बल पर वैज्ञानिक अन्य ग्रहों पर मानव बस्ती बसाने के दूरगामी सपनों को भी साकार कर सकते हैं। कला स्नातक ने कृत्रिम तरीके से जैविक पत्ती तैयार की है। ये जैविक पत्ती असली हरी पत्तियों की ही तरह जल और कार्बनडाइआक्साइड का अवशोषण करके वातावरण में ऑक्सीजन को छोड़ती है।

जुलियन का ये भी दावा है कि केवल अंतरिक्ष ही नहीं बल्कि वायु प्रदूषण के शिकार महानगरों में घरों और अत्यधिक प्रदूषित इलाकों में भी इसका उपयोग कर लोगों को स्वच्छ वातावरण मुहैया कराया जा सकता है। उनका कहना है कि इस पदार्थ का इस्तेमाल अंतरिक्ष में जाने से लेकर नए जमाने के घर बनाने तक में किया जा सकता है।

जुलियन मेलकियोरी ने बताया कि अभी तक लंबी दूरी की अंतरिक्ष यात्राएं इसीलिए संभव नहीं हो पाईं कि अंतरिक्ष में इतना अधिक ऑक्सीजन ले जा पाना अब तक संभव नहीं हो पाया। चूंकि शून्य गुरुत्वाकर्षण में ऑक्सीजन नहीं टिक पाता। लेकिन इन कृत्रिम जैविक पत्तियों की मदद से लंबे समय की अंतरिक्ष यात्र संभव हो सकेगी। इंसान की बनाई इन पत्तियों को प्रकाश संश्लेषण की प्रक्रिया के लिए केवल पानी की आवश्यकता है। इन्हें घर के अंदर भी लगाया जा सकता है। बल्कि इस विलक्षण कलाकार ने इस नए फोटोसिंथेटिक पदार्थ से पहले ही घर में सजाने के लिए खूबसूरत लैंप तैयार किए हैं।

इन लैंक को जलाने से उत्पन्न गर्मी को सोखकर ये कृत्रिम जैविक पदार्थ वातावरण में ऑक्सीजन गैस छोड़ता है। ये घर को रोशन करने, सजाने के साथ-साथ शुद्ध वायु भी देता है। जुलियन का कहना है कि अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा पहले ही इस खोज में जुटी है कि उन्हें अंतरिक्ष में ऑक्सीजन मिल जाए। ताकि लोग अंतरिक्ष में भी जी सकें। चूंकि शून्य गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल में पौधे नहीं उगते इसलिए उनका बनाया फोटोसिंथेटिक पदार्थ अंतरिक्ष में मानव जीवन के लिए वरदान साबित होगा।

जुलियन मेलकियोरी ने लंदन आरसीए इनोवेशन डिजाइन का इंजीनियरिंग कोर्स किया है। उन्होंने अपने इंसान का उपयोग अमेरिका की मैसाचुएट्स स्थित टर्फ यूनिवर्सिटी के सिल्क लैब में किया। उन्होंने वहीं अपने इस नए पदार्थ को इजाद किया। प्लांट सेल के क्लोरोप्लास्ट से बने इस पदार्थ को सिल्क प्रोटीन के तंतु में बांधा गया है। इस प्रोटीन को रेशम के स्वाभाविक तंतु से निकाला गया है।

अगर आप टीनएजर हैं तो आपको मीठे ड्रिंक पीने की अपनी आदत सुधारने पर ध्यान देना चाहिए। एक शोध में पाया गया है कि रोज इनके सेवन से सीखने और याद रखने की आदत पर असर पड़ सकता है। ज्यादातर मीठे ड्रिंक्स में हाइ फ्रुक्टोज या सुक्रोज होता है।

चूहों पर किए गए शोध में देखा गया कि एक महीने तक मीठे ड्रिंक पीने वाले वयस्क चूहों की स्मृति पर तो कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ा लेकिन जब यही प्रयोग किशोर उम्र के चूहों पर किया गया तो एक महीने बाद ही उनकी सीखने और आदत कम होने लगी।

अमेरिका की दक्षिणी कैलीफोर्निया स्कॉट कानोस्की चेतावनी देते हैं कि चीनी से मीठे किए जाने वाले ड्रिंक हमारे दिमाग के सहजता से काम करने की गति को प्रभावित करते हैं। खासकर किशोरावस्था में इनका ज्यादा सेवन करने से नुकसान बढ़ जाता है।

World to experience water shortage by 2040: Study

धरती पर मौजूद पीने लायक एक प्रतिशत पानी का बड़ा हिस्सा भी पूरी तरह पीने के काम नहीं आ रहा। इसका बड़ा हिस्सा कारखानों की ऊर्जा जरूरतों को पूरा करने में खर्च हो जाता है। यह स्थिति अब भयावह होने वाली है। जिस तरह आज हम अपनी ऊर्जा की जरूरतों को पूरा कर रहे हैं, अगर इसी तरह करते रहें तो वर्ष 2040 तक दुनिया में पीने के पानी की भारी कमी हो जाएगी। यह निष्कर्ष एक नए अध्ययन से निकाला गया है।

अध्ययन में शामिल चार देशों अमेरिका, फ्रांस, चीन और भारत में पाया गया कि बिजली के स्रोत पानी को खर्च करने का सबसे बड़ा माध्यम हैं। इन स्रोतों को ठंडा रखने के लिए पानी की जरूरत होती है। डेनमार्क की आर्हस यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रोफेसर बेंजामिन सोवाकूल के मुताबिक हमारे पास अब पानी बर्बाद करने के लिए समय नहीं है। उनका मानना है कि यह पीने के पानी और ऊर्जा की जरूरतों के लिए इस्तेमाल किए जाने वाले पानी के बीच की लड़ाई है।

अध्ययन में एक रोचक बात यह पाई गई कि ज्यादातर ऊर्जा केंद्र यह नोट ही नहीं करते कि उनके यहां पानी की कितनी खपत हो रही है। सोवाकूल कहते हैं कि यह बहुत बड़ी समस्या है कि ऊर्जा क्षेत्र को यह महसूस ही नहीं हो रहा है कि वह कितना पानी बर्बाद कर रहा है। उनके मुताबिक, हमारे पास पानी का अनंत भंडार नहीं है। अध्ययन में बताया गया हे कि दुनिया के तीस से चालीस फीसदी हिस्सों में तो 2020 के बाद ही पानी की कमी नजर आने लगेगी। सोवाकूल के मुताबिक हमें जल्दी ही यह तय करना होगा कि हम पानी का उपयोग पीने के लिए करेंगे या ऊर्जा स्रोतों को ठंडा करने के लिए। हमारे पास इतना पानी नहीं है कि हम दोनों काम एक साथ कर सकें।

12 साल से मोदी का साथ

जीत बहादुर पिछले 12 साल से मोदी के साथ है और अभी अहमदाबाद में बीबीए की पढ़ाई कर रहा है। 10 साल की उम्र में जीत बहादुर भारत में आकर खो गया था। मोदी ने न सिर्फ उसे पाला और पढ़ाया बल्कि उसको उसकी परिवार से मिलाने में भी अहम भूमिका निभाई। इसलिए जीत बहादुर की मां भी उसे मोदी का धर्मपुत्र मानती है। जीत की मां खगिसरा साहू का कहना है कि उसने जीत बहादुर को केवल जन्म दिया है जबकि मोदी ने उसके लिए बहुत कुछ किया।

ऐसे हुई मोदी से मुलाकात

जीत बहादुर का परिवार नेपाल के नवलपरासी जिले के कवासती लोकाहा गांव का रहनेवाला है। उसका परिवार बेहद गरीब है। 1998 में वो अपने भाई दशरथ के साथ दिल्ली काम की तलाश में गया। उस समय उसकी उम्र सिर्फ दस वर्ष ही थी। कुछ दिन दिल्ली में काम करने के बाद वो राजस्थान चला गया। राजस्थान में उसका मन नहीं लगा तो वो वहां से भाग कर घर आना चाहता था लेकिन नियति को कुछ और ही मंजूर था। वो गोरखपुर की ट्रेन में बैठने की बजाय अहमदाबाद की ट्रेन में बैठ गया। जब ट्रेन अहमदाबाद पहुंची तो वहां सबकुछ नया था और वह अकेला। इस घबराते हुए बच्चे को वहां एक महिला मिली, जो कि मोदी की परिचित थी। उस महिला ने इस बच्चे को नरेंद्र मोदी तक पहुंचाया। तब से जीत बहादुर मोदी के साथ है।

..तो आएंगे नेपाल

जीत बहादुर के घरवालों को उम्मीद नहीं थी कि वो फिर कभी उससे मिल पाएंगे। जीत बहादुर के उसके परिवार से मिलने की कहानी बहुत दिलचस्प है। नेपाल के जाने-माने बिजनेसमैन विनोद चौधरी फिक्की के बुलावे पर 2011 में अहमदाबाद गए थे। उस कार्यक्रम में गुजरात के तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भी शिरकत की थी। मोदी से मुलाकत के दौरान विनोद चौधरी ने उन्हें नेपाल आने का न्यौता दिया। तब मोदी ने शर्त रखी कि अगर उनके यहां रह रहे नेपाली लड़के के परिवार का पता लगा दें तो वो जरूर नेपाल आएंगे। इस पर विनोद चौधरी ने अपने सहयोगियों की मदद से 30 घंटे के अंदर न सिर्फ जीत बहादुर के परिवार का पता लगाया बल्कि उसकी बातचीत भी घरवालों से कराई।

Pune: rescue team recovered 35 dead body

पुणे के मालिन गांव में बुधवार सुबह हुए भूस्खलन में मरने वालों की संख्या 51 पहुंच गई है। मलबे की मोटी परत के नीचे अब भी करीब 121 लोगों के दबे होने की आशंका है। खराब मौसम के कारण राहत व बचाव कार्य में आ रही परेशानियों के चलते इनके जीवित बचने की संभावनाएं भी लगातार कम होती जा रही हैं। इस बीच राहत कर्मियों ने तीन माह की बच्ची के चलते पूरे परिवार के चार सदस्यों की जान बचाने में कामयाब रहे। बच्ची के रोने की आवाज सुनकर राहत कर्मियों ने जब मलबे में तलाश शुरू की तो पूरे परिवार को जिंदा बचा लिया गया। सभी को अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया, जहां सभी की हालत खतरे से बाहर बताई गई है।

गुरुवार को मालिन गांव पहुंचे गृह मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने मृतकों के परिजनों को प्रधानमंत्री राहत कोष से दो-दो लाख रुपये की मदद देने की घोषणा की। इस बीच सिद्धी विनायक मंदिर ने मालिन हादसे में राहत के लिए पचास लाख रुपये देने की बात कही है। वहीं सीपीआईएम ने इस पूरे मामले की जांच की मांग की है। बुधवार सुबह पुणे से करीब 80 किमी दूर हुए इस हादसे में पहाड़ टूटकर गिरने से एक मंदिर सहित 45 घरों का एक पूरा गांव मलबे में तब्दील हो गया। महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री पृथ्वीराज चह्वाण के अनुसार हादसे में करीब 160 लोग सोते-सोते ही मलबे में दब गए थे। दुर्घटना के कुछ घंटों बाद से ही राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन बल (एनडीआरएफ) की सात टीमें लगातार बचाव कार्य में लगी हैं।

इसके बावजूद अभी तक सिर्फ 51 शव और आठ घायलों को मलबे से निकाला जा सका हैं। टूटे पहाड़ के पत्थर और मिट्टी के मलबे की मोटी परत ऊपर होने के कारण लोगों के जीवित बचने की उम्मीदें कम होती जा रही हैं। लगातार हो रही भारी बरसात के कारण एनडीआरएफ व दमकल विभाग को काम करने में बाधा का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। एनडीआरएफ जेसीबी और पोकलैंड मशीनों की मदद से धीरे-धीरे मलबा हटाने का प्रयास कर रहा है, ताकि दबे हुए लोगों में अधिक से अधिक को जीवित निकाला जा सके।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के निर्देश पर घटनास्थल का जायजा लेने पहुंचे राजनाथ सिंह के अनुसार एनडीआरएफ को बचाव कार्यपूर्ण करने में अभी दो दिन लग सकते हैं। सिंह ने कहा कि दुर्घटना के कारणों पर बात करना अभी जल्दबाजी होगी। भूवैज्ञानिक बाद में इसके कारणोंकी तह में जा सकते हैं। लेकिन राज्य सरकारों को इस बात का ध्यान जरूर रखना चाहिए कि विकास की योजनाएं पर्यावरण को ध्यान में रखकर बनाई जाएं। राकांपा अध्यक्ष शरद पवार ने भी गुरुवार को घटनास्थल का दौरा किया। गुरुवार को मालिन गांव के नजदीकी श्मशान में भीड़ बढ़ती जा रही है।

हत्यारे 27 जुलाई की रात जब कार में ज्योति को चाकुओं से गोद रहे थे, उस समय उसका पति पीयूष लगातार उनके संपर्क में था। वह मोबाइल पर ज्योति की चीखें सुन रहा था। गुरुवार को पत्रकारों से बातचीत के दौरान एसएसपी केएस इमैनुएल ने इस हत्याकांड से जुड़े और तथ्यों की जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि ज्योति का काम तमाम होने के बाद हत्यारोपी रेनू ने पीयूष से कहा कि काम हो गया। इसके बाद पीयूष थाने में पत्नी के गायब होने की सूचना देने पहुंचा था। इससे पहले झूठी हाथापाई में फटी शर्ट को बदलने वह घर गया। एसएसपी ने बताया कि हत्यारोपियों के पास से ज्योति के लूटे गए कुंडल, अंगूठी बरामद हो गई हैं। जिस रूमाल से सोनू ने खून पोछा था वह भी मिला है। हत्या में प्रयुक्त एक और चाकू की तलाश की जा रही है। सभी हत्यारोपियों को जेल भेज दिया गया है।

दो जुलाई को रची हत्या की योजनामनीषा का पूर्व चालक अवधेश पीयूष और मनीषा का प्रेम प्रसंग बखूबी जानता था। पीयूष ने मनीषा की सलाह पर ही दो जुलाई को अवधेश से पत्नी की हत्या के संबंध में बात की थी और 50 हजार रुपये में सुपारी तय की थी।

दो बार खरीदे चाकूअवधेश और पीयूष रावतपुर क्रासिंग के पास बिग बाजार गए। पीयूष बाहर ही बैठा रहा। अवधेश ने ब्रांडेड दो चाकू खरीदे। दो दिन बाद दोबारा अवधेश सोनू के साथ बिग बाजार गया और फिर दो चाकू खरीदे। दोनों बार की वीडियो फुटेज पुलिस ने निकाल ली हैं।

जानते थे पीयूष क्रूर है, पर नाजुक रिश्ते ने रोक रखा थाबेशुमार दौलत का नशा पीयूष पर इतना हावी था कि वह किसी को कुछ नहीं समझता था। उसके अंदर इंसानियत नाम की कोई चीज नहीं थी। मगर हम सिर्फ इसलिए चुप रहते थे, क्योंकि हमारा उससे नाजुक रिश्ता था।' ये कहना है कानपुर से ज्योति का अंतिम संस्कार कर लौटे उसके भाई विशेष का।

एक घटना का जिक्र करते हुए विशेष ने बताया कि कुछ माह पहले पीयूष ज्योति के साथ जबलपुर आया था, तब परिवार के साथ सभी लोग घूमने जा रहे थे। इस दौरान पीयूष ने जिद करते हुए गाड़ी चलानी शुरू कर दी। सूनसान रास्ते में एक कुत्ते का बच्चा सड़क किनारे बैठा था, लेकिन पीयूष ने जानबूझकर उसे कुचल दिया। परिजनों ने उसकी इस हरकत पर आपत्ति जताई जिस पर वह उखड़ गया। उस वक्त भी ज्योति ने पीयूष की ऐसी कई हरकतों की जानकारी हमें दी थी, लेकिन हम लोगों ने उम्र के साथ समझदारी आने की बात कहते हुए ज्योति को शांत किया।

डेढ़ महीने से कर रहा था प्लानिंगज्योति के पिता शंकर नाग्देव ने बताया कि उन्हें पुलिस से जानकारी मिली कि पीयूष की प्रेमिका मनीषा दिल्ली में रहती थी और डेढ़ माह पहले ही कानपुर पहुंची थी। पीयूष के ठीक बगल वाले मकान के कमरे में मनीषा रहने लगी और पीयूष रोज रात में बालकनी कूदकर उसके कमरे में पहुंच जाता था। तभी से वह ज्योति की हत्या का प्लान बना रहा था।

पीयूष के पिता ने पूछा हालचालनाग्देव के अनुसार, गुरुवार सुबह उनका परिवार जबलपुर लौटा। करीब दस बजे पीयूष के पिता ओमप्रकाश ने उनका हालचाल पूछा। उनके दिल में पीयूष के लिए काफी घृणा है, लेकिन उसके पिता का सम्मान करते हैं। नाग्देव परिवार के लौटने के बाद रिश्तेदारों और परिचितों का उनसे मिलने का सिलसिला चलता रहा।

इसी ने अपनी पत्नी का बेरहमी से कत्ल कराया है, इसका मुंह काला कर दो, इसको चप्पलों से पीटो, कोर्ट से इसको जरूर सजा मिलेगी, इसको बिना पीटे जेल नहीं जाने देना है। ये शोर-गुल गुरुवार को सीएमएम कोर्ट के बाहर हो रहा था, जहां पर ज्योति का मर्डर करवाने वाले उसके पति पीयूष को पेश किया जा रहा था। वकीलों के गुस्से को देखकर कोर्ट ने कोतवाली फोर्स और पीएसी को बुला ली गई। जिसके बाद पीयूष को पुलिस की सुरक्षा में जेल भेजा गया, लेकिन गुस्साएं वकीलों ने उसको कचहरी में दौड़ाकर पीट दिया। उसको बचाने में कुछ पुलिस कर्मी वकीलों के गुस्से का शिकार हो गए। इससे पहले बुधवार रात को पीयूष के पांडुनगर वाले बंगले पर भी उसके समुदाय के लोगों ने पथराव कर गुस्से का इजहार किया था।

तुम्हें पास में नहीं बैठाया जा सकतापुलिस जब उसका मेडिको लीगल कराने हैलट में पहुंची तो डॉक्टर ने उसे कुर्सी से उठा दिया। कहा तुम जैसे इंसान को पास में नहीं बैठाया जा सकता। पीयूष जहां भी गया उसके किए की वजह से उसे जलालत ही झेलनी पड़ी।

चेतना चौराहे तक दौड़ाकर पीटा गयाकचहरी में वकीलों के गुस्से को देखकर हत्यारोपी पीयूष के पसीने छूट गए। पुलिस उसको वकीलों से बचाने के लिए पीछे के रास्ते से ले गई, लेकिन गुस्साएं वकील वहां पर पहुंच गए, जिसे देख पीयूष दहशत में बचाओ-बचाओ चिल्लाने लगा, तो वकीलों ने उसे पीटते हुए कहा कि क्या तुमने अपनी पत्नी पर रहम किया था। पुलिस ने किसी तरह उसको रोड पर जीप पर बैठाया, तो वकील जीप में घुसकर उसको पीटने लगे। वो उसको चेतना चौराहे तक जीप में घुसकर पीटते रहे।

पीयूष दस घंटे की रिमाण्ड परपुलिस ने ज्योति मर्डर में उसके पति पीयूष की कस्टडी रिमाण्ड के लिए कोर्ट से अपील की। जिसका बचाव पक्ष के वकील सौरभ जैन ने कड़ा विरोध किया। पीयूष की ओर से सिटी के दर्जनों नामी वकीलों की फौज उतरी थी। वकीलों ने कस्टडी रिमाण्ड को टालने के लिए कोर्ट से समय की मांग की, जिसे कोर्ट ने खारिज कर दिया। जिसके बाद कोर्ट ने पीयूष को दस घंटे का पुलिस कस्टडी रिमाण्ड का आदेश दिया। पुलिस शुक्रवार को सुबह आठ बजे पीयूष को जेल से कस्टडी में लेगी। जिसके बाद वे शाम को छह बजे उसका जेल में दाखिला करा दिया जाएगा।

हर पल झूठ बोलता है पीयूषशादी के बाद ज्योति का विश्वास छलने वाला पीयूष काफी शातिर है। वो पल-पल में झूठ बोलता है। उसने आईजी आशुतोष पाण्डेय की कांफ्रेंस में खुद जयोति के कत्ल का जुर्म स्वीकार किया था, लेकिन वो कोर्ट में पहुंचने के बाद बयान से पलट गया। उसने कोर्ट में पेशी के दौरान रिपोर्टर से कहा कि वो बेकसूर है, उसको फंसाया जा रहा है।

उसने कहा कि उसे ड्राइवर अवधेश फंसा रहा है। ड्राइवर बहुत खतरनाक है। वो उससे रुपए छीन लेता था। जब रिपोर्टर ने कांफ्रेंस में जुर्म कबूल करने के बारे में पूछा, तो उसने चुप्पी साध ली। वहीं, जेल से पेशी पर जाते समय पुलिस ने उससे रिमाण्ड पेपर में साइन करने के लिए कहा, तो उसने झट से साइन कर दिया, लेकिन वो कोर्ट में पहुंचने पर फिर पलट गया। उसने कहा कि उसे जेल में किसी भी पेपर में साइन नहीं किया था। उसने पुलिस पर झूठ बोलने का आरोप लगाया।

माशूका समेत सभी आरोपी जेल पहुंचे.पुलिस ने ज्योति मर्डर में गुरुवार की शाम करीब साढ़े चार बजे पीयूष की माशूका मनीषा माखीजा, ड्राइवर अवधेश, रेनू, आशीष और सोनू को गिरफ्तार कर सीएमएम कोर्ट में पेश किया। कोर्ट ने सभी आरोपियों को 14 दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत में जेल भेज दिया। इससे पहले पुलिस ने गुटखा किंग की बेटी यानि पीयूष की माशूका को मीडिया के सामने लाने से बचती रही। पुलिस ने उसको एसएसपी की प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में भी पेश नहीं किया। वहीं, उसके परिजन समेत शहर की कई बड़ी हस्तियां उसको बचाने के लिए पेशबन्दी में जुटे रहे।

इस आईओ भरोसे नहीं होगी विवेचनाहाईप्रोफाइल मर्डर की जांच के लिए पुलिस ने जिसे आईओ बनाया है उसका बीते साल हुए एक हाईप्रोफाइल हिट एंड रन केस में रिकार्ड काफी सवालों के घेरे में रहा है। मौजूदा समय में स्वरूप नगर के एसओ स्वरुप नगर में सूरी शू कंपनी के मालिक के बेटे के गैस्ट्रो लीवर हॉस्पिटल के पास इटावा के एक लड़के को कुचल देने के मामले में यहीं विवेचना अधिकारी बनाए गए थे। जिसके बाद आरोपी को 24 घंटे में थाने में जमानत मिल गई और उसके बाद पूरा मामला दबा दिया गया। मामले पर बारीकी से नजर रख रहे आईजी जोन आशुतोष पांडे ने इस मामले की जांच के लिए एक टीम बनाने की बात कही है।

तो ज्योति की लाश भी नहीं मिलतीअवधेश ने बताया कि 20 जुलाई को ही ज्योति बैराज पर हत्या की योजना थी। पीयूष ज्योति को लेकर बैराज पर पहुंचा भी था। लेकिन बारिश होने की वजह से वह और बाकी साथी वहां नहीं पहुंच सके। उस दिन उसकी हत्या में गला घोंट कर की जाती क्योंकि कोई भी किसी तरह का हथियार नहीं लाया था। इसके बाद उसकी बॉडी को बैराज में फेंक दिया जाता। जिससे उसका शव भी किसी के हाथ नहीं लगता लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हुआ।

सामने आई चाकू खरीदने की सीसीटीवी फुटेजगुरुवार को पुलिस एक सीसीटीवी फुटेज के साथ सामने आई। यह फुटेज 21 जुलाई को गुटैया क्रासिंग स्थित बिगबाजार थी। जिसमें अवधेश और सोनू मॉल में चाकू खरीदते नजर आ रहे हैं। एसएसपी केएस इमैनुअल ने दावा किया कि पीयूष भी उस दौरान मॉल में ही मौजूद था लेकिन वह बिगबाजार के अंदर नहीं गया।

और पुलिस ने बरामद करा दिए ज्योति के जेवरज्योति की हत्या के बाद से ही पुलिस किसी भी प्रकार की लूट से इंकार कर रही थी। उसका कहना था कि पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट में डॉक्टर ने लिखा था कि ज्योति की बॉडी से एक ब्रेसलेट मिला है। वहीं जब पीयूष के परिजनों ने ज्योति के गहने लूटने का आरोप लगाया तो पुलिस ने गुरुवार को उसके जेवर भी बरामद करा दिए। पुलिस ने दावा किया कि पीयूष ने ही सभी आरोपियों हत्या के बाद जेवर निकालने के लिए कहा था जिससे घटना लूट लगे। प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में पुलिस ने जेवरों को पनकी में जहां कार बरामदगी की जगह के पास से इन्हें मिलने की बात बताई जबकि प्रेसनोट में आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी के दौरान ही जेवर बरामद होने की बात लिखी।

बियर पिलाई रुपए नहीं दिएहत्यारोपी रेनू कनौजिया ने बताया कि हत्या में रुपयों को लेकर पीयूष से डीलिंग अवधेश ही कर रहा था। अवधेश ने ही कत्ल से पहले पीयूष से 10 हजार फिर 20 हजार रूपए लिए। लेकिन यह रुपया उसने किसी को नहीं दिया। उसने बताया कि पीयूष ने कहा था कि उसके पास हमेशा 20,30 हजार रुपए मौजूद रहते हैं।

पीयूष और दूसरे आरोपियों के बीच गाली गलौजजेल पहुंचने पर पीयूष और बाकी चारों आरोपियों को मुलाहिजा बैरक में ही रखा गया था। हत्या के बाद पहली बार आमना सामना होने पर अवधेश, सोनू, रेनू की पीयूष के साथ गाली गलौज भी हुई। दोनों ही एक दूसरे को गालियां दे रहे थे और एक दूसरे पर पचड़े में फंसाने का आरोप भी लगा रहे थे। वहीं मनीषा को महिला बैरक में आम आरोपियों की तरह की रखा गया है।

अब रोने से कोई फायदा नहींहत्या के बाद पुलिसिया इंटेरोगेशन से गुजरने फिर वकीलों से पिटने और हर जगह जलालत झेलने के बाद जब पीयूष जेल पहुंचा तो कुछ देर तो उसे गेट के अंदर खड़ा रहना पड़ा। वो जेल में दहाड़े मार कर रोया। यह नजारा देख सिपाही, नंबरदार समेत जेल सुप्रीटेंडेंट ने पहले तो उसे समझाया फिर पुचकारा आखिर में कहा अब रोने से कोई फायदा नहीं।

टीम इंडिया ने तीसरे टेस्ट में 266 रनों से मैच गंवाया जिसके साथ ही कई खामियों से पर्दा उठ गया। टीम में कई ऐसी चीजें थीं जो शायद अच्छे प्रदर्शन के बीच छुप सी गई थीं लेकिन हार के बाद भारतीय कप्तान महेंद्र सिंह धौनी को ये सभी चीजें साफ-साफ नजर आने लगी है। मैच के बाद धौनी ने टीम के कई पक्षों पर अपनी भड़ास निकाली और रणनीति पर दोबारा विचार करने की बात तक कह डाली।

धौनी ने अपने बल्लेबाजों को 'आसानी से आउट होने' के लिए दोषी ठहराया। उन्होंने कहा कि उन्हें चौथे टेस्ट से पहले अपनी चार गेंदबाजों की रणनीति के बारे में चर्चा करने की जरूरत है। तीसरे टेस्ट में चार गेंदबाजों के साथ उतरने के फैसले के बारे में पूछने पर धौनी ने कहा, 'चार गेंदबाजों के इस्तेमाल का कारण यह था कि हमने कभी भी पांचवें गेंदबाज का प्रयोग नहीं किया था। हमने उसे सिर्फ दस और आठ ओवर के लिए इस्तेमाल किया था। शिखर, विजय और रोहित की मौजूदगी में हमने सोचा कि हम इनसे काम चला सकते हैं। लेकिन हमें गेंदबाजी में सुधार करने और ऑफ स्टंप के ऊपर हिट करने की जरूरत है। हमें चार गेंदबाजों की रणनीति के बारे में सोचना होगा। हम कह सकते हैं कि अतिरिक्त बल्लेबाज ने स्कोर नहीं बनाया, लेकिन फिर यही बात है कि अतिरिक्त गेंदबाज ने विकेट नहीं चटकाया। इसलिए हमें काफी चर्चा करनी होगी और पिच के आधार पर फैसला करना होगा।'

उन्होंने कहा कि उनके बल्लेबाजों को और सकारात्मक होना चाहिए था। 'मुझे नहीं लगता कि हम अच्छा क्रिकेट खेले। हमने तेज गेंदबाजों को अच्छी तरह खिलाया। मोइन अली ने अच्छी गेंदबाजी की, लेकिन हमने भी उसे अच्छी गेंदबाजी करने दी। उसने अच्छी लाइन एवं लेंथ में गेंदबाजी की। इस दौरान कई खिलाड़ी आसानी से अपना विकेट गंवा बैठे। बुधवार को अंतिम सत्र में भी हमने कई विकेट गंवा दिए।' पदार्पण करने वाले तेज गेंदबाज पंकज सिंह के बारे में धौनी ने कहा 'पंकज ने सचमुच अच्छी गेंदबाजी की। इस पिच पर उसने सही लेंथ हासिल की। उसे तीन विकेट मिल सकते थे, लेकिन भाग्य उसके साथ नहीं रहा। शमी और भुवी ने भी अच्छी गेंदबाजी की।'

2 injured in grenade attack on Pakistan theatre screening Salman Khan's film 'Kick'

सलमान खान की सुपरहिट फिल्म 'किक' दिखा रहे कराची के मशहूर कापरी सिनेमाघर पर कल अज्ञात लोगों ने हैंड ग्रेनेड से हमला कर दिया। इस हमले में दो लोग घायल हो गए।

वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारी इमरान शौकत के मुताबिक, 'कापरी सिनेमा के प्रवेश द्वार के पास दो आदमी बाइक पर पहुंचे और हैंड ग्रेनेड फेंक कर वहां से तुरंत गायब हो गए। इस हमले में दो लोग घायल हुए हैं।' कराची के एमए जिन्ना रोड़ पर स्थित इस सिनेमाघर में किक के शो हाउसफुल चल रहे थे। पुलिस इस हमले के पीछे की मंशा पता लगाने की कोशिश कर रही है। पुलिस को हमलावरों की मंशा उन लोगों जैसी लग रही है, जो ग्रेनेड का इस्तेमाल संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचाने के लिए करते हैं और भय फैलाते हैं।

पाकिस्तानी में ईद की छुट्टियां होने की वजह से ज्यादातर सिनेमाघरों में शोज हाउसफुल चल रहे हैं। भारत की तरह पाकिस्तान में भी किक के शोज में काफी भीड़ देखी जा रही है। मंगलवार तक पाकिस्तान में किक ने 1.59 करोड़ रुपए कमा लिए थे।

Gold snaps two-day falling trend, up by Rs 250 on global cues

Silver followed suit and rebounded by Rs 400 to Rs 44,800 per kg on increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers.Marketmen said apart from firming trend overseas, emergence of buying by jewellers and retailers to meet the upcoming festive season demand mainly attributed recovery in precious metal prices.

 

Gold in New York, which normally sets the price trend on the domestic front, rose by one per cent to USD 1,305.30 an ounce, a biggest gain since July 17 and silver by 1.1 per cent to USD 20.63 an ounce.In Delhi, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity shot up by Rs 250 each to Rs 28,350 and Rs 28,150 per 10 grams, respectively. It had lost Rs 260 in last two days.Sovereigns followed suit and recovered by Rs 200 to Rs 24,900 per piece of eight grams.In a similar fashion, silver ready recovered by Rs 400 to Rs 44,800 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 265 to Rs 44,280 per kg. The white metal had lost Rs 1,000 in the previous two sessions.Silver coins, however, held steady at Rs 78,000 for buying and Rs 79,000 for selling of 100 pieces.

Kerry meets Jaitley ahead of strategic dialogue

Kerry, who arrived here on Wednesday on a three-day visit, visited the Indian Institute of Technology in south Delhi.

Kerry also met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. US delegation comprises Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker as well as State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki.  Kerry will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

On Wednesday evening, he met Indian business leaders ahead of his meeting with the top Indian officials. According to a background briefing by a senior US State Department official ahead of Kerry's visit, the India-US Strategic Dialogue is to focus on some of the big priorities that the Modi government have put forward on economic revitalization, on energy security, on homeland security, as well as the robust cooperation between our two countries in science and technology, in space, in skills and education, and in health.

"We see a new government coming in that has an ambitious agenda, what we can do to help that government realize its agenda, because we see India's economic rise as something that is deeply in US interest. And we believe that American companies have a role to play in that rise, and so part of the discussion over the next two days is really going to be focusing in on what are the shared priorities and shared goals that we want to focus on," the official said.

Kerry and Pritzker will participate in a roundtable with Brookings India that will focus on climate and energy issues. Kerry said on Wednesday that the long-standing partnership between US and India is on the cusp of an historic transformation and that US will work hand in hand with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government to power India's rise economically and strategically.

"India's rise will help the Indo-Pacific region become more stable, more prosperous and free. The strategic choices India makes on how to grow its economy and promote regional security will directly impact Asia's growth and US interests," the article read.

"As President Barack Obama has observed, America's economy and security will increasingly be influenced by events in Asia. India's economic strength and business environment are, therefore, of strategic importance to both our countries."

"We are coming to India to deliver a single message: US is prepared to be a full partner in this effort. Kerry visits IIT; walks out impressed with students

Kerry, who is here for the 5th Indo-US Strategic Dialogue, took time out of his schedule and visited the Applied Microbiology Laboratory and Bio-process lab.

Professor R K Shevgaonkar, Director of the IIT, Delhi said that the American Embassy had specifically mentioned the laboratories that Kerry wanted to visit.

Dressed in a blue suit, Kerry interacted with the students there and asked a number of questions about the processes involved, the education fees, patent system and also if they would get a job in India or would they have to go out.     Kerry was very pleased to see a research project on
bio-degradable plastic.

As a student explained the project to him, Kerry said, "Very exciting. It would be a huge contribution to the world. Very exciting. Fantastic".

Kunal Gupta, who is part of the project, said he was proud that Kerry visited his institute. "I am very proud to be part of a institute which is recognised in the US as well. They (US) have done a lot of research which is much ahead of us and Kerry's visit to the institute makes us feel very good," said Gupta.

Kerry also visited the lab which was using algae to clean water and to produce biomass.

Won't make anything controversial: Rohit on 'Singham Returns'

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has written to the the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), citing that the film depicts Hindu saints in a bad light, "which hurts the religious sentiment of the believers of the faith".

The organisation apparently has objected to a dialogue in the film.

However, Shetty said, "They have not seen the scene. We will have a discussion with them. I am a commercial filmmaker and I know how business is important. I will never do any such thing or make a film that is controversial ever."

"I have never done that till today and will not do it in my life. It is just that they have a speculation after watching the promo we will sit and talk with them," he said.

The CBFC has also received several emails allegedly saying that the Hindus are shown in a bad light in the film.

Most of them have urged the board to delete certain scenes in the movie, while some have called for a ban on the film.

Ajay Devgn-Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Singham Returns' is a sequel of 2011 film 'Singham'.

"When we make a film we hope everyone likes it. The film ('Singham') was based on cops and they liked it, so it was encouraging for us. The first film released three years ago and cops even talk about it ('Singham'). So we thought of 'Singham Returns' for them and for the audience," Rohit said.

The film is set to release on August 15. About its box office fate, Rohit said, "That the audience will tell. It is foolish to talk about the numbers before the release of the film.

"The release date of a film is very important. Holiday time matters a lot as there are lot of footfalls. If the film is good, it will do well," he added.

Talking about superstar Salman Khan, who has given several Rs 100 crore films like himself, Rohit said, "For Salman it is only Salman that works. He is the bankable star for mass entertainer (films)," Rohit said.

Bajaj to launch new versions of Discover soon

The first segment of the company’s popular commuter bike would be the naked street version – Discover 150S and it looks pretty similar to the now discontinued version of 125ST. The new bike has however been provided a flat seat placed at a lower height in order to provide a smoother experience to the pillion.  Nothing has however yet been known about the engine specification.

The second version of the bike is mini-faired, which has been named as Discover 150F and the bike looks quite stylish and a mix-match of commuter as well as sport.

At the same time, the bike also bears bit of resemblance to Hero Ignitor and CBF Stunner and the mini fairing looks like the older version of Karizma as well.

This minor change may turn out to be a major factor in attracting the riders and the bike could gain popularity among its fans.

Vehicle dependability in India improves to 38 percent

The study also revealed that overall vehicle dependability averages 218 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) in 2014, compared with 280 PP100 in 2013.

This dependability is based on the number of problems reported per 100 vehicles, with a lower score reflecting higher long-term vehicle quality.

Reserchers conducted study on as many as 70 models across 12 vehicle segments.

In the entry midsize segment Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire grabed the highest rank while Maruti Suzuki SX4 ranks highest in the midsize segment.

Toyota received model awards for its Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner in the MUV/ MPV segment and SUV segment repectively.

The Hyundai Santro ranks highest in the compact segment for the second time in three years.

Nissan Micra ranks highest in the upper compact segment, while Skoda Fabia and Honda Civic rank highest in the premium compact and the premium midsize segments, respectively.

Hrithik's cameo in 'Bombay Samurai'

Accordingly, the makers are said to have asked director Dev Benegal, who is also writing the film’s script, to create a special role for Hrithik Roshan. The film already has a big star cast that includes Kareena Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Kalki Koechlin, Akshaye Khanna and Abhay Deol.

A source close to the film’s team says, “Excel Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani and actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar are keen on including Hrithik in the project. Dev is now writing a role for Hrithik, let’s see how it will work out.”

It may be pointed out that Hrithik has earlier done a cameo in Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance, where the actor stole the limelight with the Rajasthani song, Baware.

Both Hrithik Roshan and Ritesh Sidhwani were unavailable for comment.

'Dhoom: 3' enters Chinese top 10 chart

After storming the Turkish box office and becoming the only Indian film to get to the Turkish Top 10, ‘Dhoom: 3’, Yash Raj Films (YRF) offering, has now entered the Chinese Top 10 Charts at number 9, said a statement from the film's production house.

Released 25th July, ‘Dhoom: 3’, which became the first Indian film to get widest release ever in China, came in with an impressive USD 1.35 million for the three-day weekend, beating the local Chinese romance ‘No Zuo No Die’. With weekend admissions at 267,000, 'Dhoom: 3’ takes a flying start and is on target to become the biggest Indian film in China.

Starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, the film is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who co-scripted with producer and YRF boss Aditya Chopra.

India fifth largest producer of wind energy

Annual growth rate of renewable energy in India in the last decade has been about 22 percent, said Seetharam, who was earlier this month appointed India's permanent representative to International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
   
India is one of the 21 members of the Abu Dhabi-based IRENA and the current vice-chairman of its council.
   
Seetharam said hydropower, bio-energy and solar energy are other areas that have good potential and sharing experiences and international cooperation is the way forward to tap this potential.
   
"There are plans during the 12th five-year plan (2012-17) to add an additional renewable capacity of 30 GigaWatts. This includes 15 GigaWatts of wind, 10 GigaWatts of solar, 2.7 GigaWatts of biomass and 2.1 GigaWatts of small hydro," Seetharam said.
   
Further, he said that all these require huge investment. According to him, during the 12th five-year plan, the projected investment into renewable is to be four times above the 11th five-year plan.
   
The 11th five-year plan had projected an investment of Rs 892 billion and for the current plan it has gone up to Rs 3,186 billion.
   
Seetharam said that renewable energy solutions are relevant to India as they can be generated in remote areas that are difficult to access from the central grid. Renewable energy allows you to produce energy where it is consumed even in remote areas where you can have wind, solar or biogas.
   
India recently became the 19th member to designate a permanent representative to IRENA, an intergovernmental organization that supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future, and serves as the principal platform for international cooperation.
   
IRENA promotes the widespread adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy in the pursuit of sustainable development.

Gold prices recover marginally; silver remains higher

Silver also strengthened by Rs 100 to Rs 44,900 per kg on increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers.

Marketmen said emergence of buying at prevailing levels by jewellers and retailers to meet upcoming festive season demand mainly supported the upside in gold prices.

In Delhi, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 percent purity recovered by Rs 45 each to Rs 28,245 and Rs 28,045 per ten grams, respectively. It had lost Rs 170 in previous two days.

Sovereign, however, remained steady at Rs 24,700 per piece of eight grams in restricted activity.

In line with a better trend, silver ready advanced by Rs 100 to Rs 44,900 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 125 to Rs 44,360 per kg. The white metal had gained Rs 400 on Wednesday.

Silver coins, however, continued to be asked at level of Rs 77,000 for buying and Rs 78,000 for selling of 100 pieces.

Nokia to buy part of Panasonic's network business

"Nokia Networks has entered into a memorandum of understanding to acquire part of the wireless networks business of Panasonic System Networks Company Ltd," Nokia said in a statement on Thursday.

The agreement covers Panasonic's mobile phone (LTE/3G) wireless base station system business for mobile operators and related wireless equipment system business, it said in the statement.

The two firms plan to conclude the agreement by the end of September this year, with expected closure scheduled on January 1, 2015, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

As part of the deal, fixed assets and business contracts with Panasonic's customers are being transferred to Nokia Networks in Japan, including Panasonic employees involved in the business.

"Japan is a key market for us, and this agreement is a major milestone in forging closer ties in Japan. The acquisition of part of Panasonic's wireless network business would further strengthen our mobile broadband portfolio and add significant value for Japanese operators," Nokia Networks Executive Vice President (AMEA) Ashish Chowdhary said.

Through this acquisition, Nokia Networks aims to reinforce and further improve efficiency and quality control for product development and R&D.

It will also help strengthen Nokia's market share for base station systems and related wireless equipment in Japan.

In addition, Nokia Networks plans to leverage its extensive global experience and technical leadership in mobile broadband to grow its business in the acquired domestic carrier segment globally, it said.

Sonia Gandhi says she will write her own book to reply to Natwar Singh’s comments

Sonia Gandhi told a leading news channel that she was absolutely serious about writing a book which will reveal the truth.

Natwar Singh, who has used terms like “authoritarian" and "Machiavellian” in his autobiography for Sonia Gandhi, in an interview had claimed that the 67-year old Congress president did not take up the position of Prime Minister after UPA stormed into power in 2004 because of her son Rahul Gandhi’s stiff opposition, and not due to her ‘inner voice’ as she had claimed at that point.

Singh claimed Rahul was worried that just like his father Rajiv Gandhi and grandmother Indira Gandhi, both former Prime Ministers, her mother might be assassinated too if she decides to lead the nation.

Manmohan Singh went on to become the Prime Minister of country and he stayed at the position for next ten years.

However, Gandhi said that such attacks are futile as it would not have any effect on her since she is used to them.

“I can't be hurt. I have seen my mother-in-law riddled by bullets, my husband dead and I am far from getting hurt with these things. Let them continue to do this it will not affect me,” Gandhi told the news channel.
“They can continue to do this if they so please," she added.

Singh was forced to resign from the UPA government in 2005 following his alleged involvement in corruption.

Meanwhile, the Congress branded Singh’s comments as ‘ridiculous’ and ‘politically motivated’.

"It is ridiculous. These days it has become fashionable to sensationalize the contents of a book with the sole aim of ensuring better sale and free publicity. This is yet another such exercise. Any comment on it will be a futile exercise," AICC general secretary and Communication Department Chairman Ajay Maken said.
To persuade Natwar Singh from not referring to this particular episode in his autobiography, the Congress president along with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi had met him on May 7 at his residence but he decided to disclose facts as they were and tell the "truth", Singh claimed in an interview.
   
The book titled "One Life is Not Enough: An Autobiography" is due to release soon.

Bringing poll parties under RTI would hamper their working: Govt

In a written reply, Minister of State for Personnel and Training Jitendra Singh said no representation from the political parties opposing the Central Information Commission order, bringing six national parties under RTI, has been received in the department.

"Declaring a political party as public authority under the RTI Act would hamper its smooth internal working, which is not the objective of the RTI Act. Further, political rivals may misuse the provisions of the Act, thereby adversely affecting the functioning of the political parties," the minister said.

He said CIC in its decision dated June 3, 2013 has held that the political parties namely AICC/INC, BJP, CPI(M), CPI, NCP and BSP are public authorities under the RTI Act.

"A bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on August 12, 2013 to exclude Political Parties from definition of 'Public Authority' under the RTI Act, 2005. The Bill was referred to Parliamentary Standing Committee on September 12, 2013. The Standing Committee in its report recommended passing of bill by the Lok Sabha.

"The Bill could not be taken up for consideration by the Parliament and stands lapsed after dissolution of 15th Lok Sabha," he said.

The most disappointing was Dhawan's dismissal having done all the hardwork against pacers threw his wicket away as Joe Root bowled a classical off-break that kissed his edge for Jordan to grab his second catch in the slips.

Ali took his wickets tally to 11 when he bowled a straighter one which took Virat Kohli's outside edge which Jos Buttler fumbled before completing the catch.

James Anderson (5/53) took his 16th five-wicket haul in Test cricket as Cook didn't enforce follow-on and decided to give his bowlers a break.

Cook and his opening partner Sam Robson (13) looked steady and not a team in pursuit of a specific target to
present the opposition. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took advantage of this as he had Robson caught at first slip by Dhawan in the 7th over of the innings.

First-innings' centurion Gary Ballance (38) arrived at the crease and he played with a little more urgency than his skipper.

He built a good stand with Cook but was unlucky to be given out caught at short leg by umpire Marais Erasmus off Jadeja's bowling.

After lunch, Cook and Ian Bell (23) started off in the pursuit of some quick runs. And they were successful in their bid because the Indian team simply looked like they were awaiting the declaration. It allowed the batsmen to plunder runs with consummate ease, as Bell launched an offensive.

But he could not go on, bowled by Jadeja around his legs in the 27th over, just after the 100-run mark came up an over earlier. It was Root then who provided the real impetus to the innings, as he stroked his way to a quick-fire half-century.

He smacked 50 off just 38 balls, with 8 fours, and his 50-run partnership with Cook came in only 49 balls. It didn’t appear as if England would declare before the break, but then Root’s wicket changed that.

Indian bowlers looked like playing the waiting game, knowing full well that they will have to atleast bat four
sessions to save this match from here onwards.

When England started their second innings, Ballance and Cook then gained some momentum, first bringing up the 50-run mark in the 14th over and then four overs later, their own 50-run stand.

They put on 58 runs for the second wicket, a perfect platform for someone like Jos Buttler to come and strike the ball later on.

Earlier, Anderson took his first five-wicket haul since July 2013. It came after a gap of 26 innings as he wrapped up the Indian innings within the first half hour of play, grabbing two wickets for a run in the space of six balls.

Dhoni was his team's lone hope of salvaging anything in this first innings but he was unable to add on to his tally from the last night. He faced only 10 balls before Anderson (5-53) bounced him out, the top-edge sailing to wicket-keeper Jos Buttler.

Anderson duly wrapped up things when he bounced out Shami as well, the ball taking the glove on its way to the keeper.

The medium-pacer, celebrating his birthday today, led his team off the ground.

Stuart Broad (3-66) and Moeen Ali (2-62) were the other wicket-takers in this Indian innings, while Chris Woakes (0-60) and Chris Jordan (0-59) went wicket-less.

EU and US imposes new sanctions in 'strong warning' to Russia

यूरोपीय यूनियन (ईयू) ने पहली बार रूस पर व्यापक आर्थिक प्रतिबंध लगाए हैं। इसके अलावा अमेरिका ने भी रूस पर नयए प्रतिबंध लगाए हैं। ईयू ने पूर्वी यूक्रेन में संघर्ष कम करने में विफल रहने पर रूस के खिलाफ सैन्य उपकरणों के निर्यात पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है। इसके अलावा रूस पर ऊर्जा क्षेत्र में संवेदनशील तकनीक के निर्यात पर भी प्रतिबंध लगाया गया है।

मंगलवार को ब्रसेल्स में ईयू के राजदूतों की आपातकालीन बैठक में जिन दंडात्मक प्रावधानों पर सहमति बनी उनमें रूसी बैंकों का यूरोपीय वित्ता बाजार तक पहुंच पर प्रतिबंध भी शामिल है। इसके अलावा रूसी सशस्त्र बलों के लिए उच्च प्रौद्योगिकी के निर्यात पर रोक लगाने पर भी सहमति बनी है। इन उपायों से यह सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा कि रूस द्वारा मार्च में यूक्रेन के क्रीमिया प्रायद्वीप को अपने में मिलाने के बाद पहली बार रूसी अर्थव्यवस्था के कुछ मुख्य क्षेत्रों को प्रतिबंध के दायरे में लाया जाए। वहीं ह्वाइट हाउस में ताजा प्रतिबंधों की घोषणा करते हुए अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा ने कहा, 'रूस पर बड़े प्रतिबंध लगाने को लेकर ईयू अमेरिका के साथ हो रहा है। हम रूस के और बैंकों और रक्षा कंपनियों पर प्रतिबंध लगा रहे हैं।'

पूर्वी यूक्रेन में संघर्ष में 19 मरे

कीव। पूर्वी यूक्रेन के दोनेत्स्क क्षेत्र में अधिकारियों ने बताया कि यूक्रेनी सेना और रूस समर्थक अलगाववादियों के बीच हुए संघर्ष में 19 लोग मारे गए हैं। क्षेत्रीय प्रशासन द्वारा बुधवार को अपनी वेबसाइट पर कहा गया कि पिछले 24 घंटे में 31 लोग घायल भी हुए हैं। उधर अमेरिकी रक्षा मंत्रालय पेंटागन के प्रेस सचिव जॉन किर्बी ने संवाददाताओं से कहा कि अभी भी रूसी सैन्य बल यूक्रेन की दक्षिण पूर्वी सीमा पर जमा हो रहे हैं। उनका कहना है कि मॉस्को यूक्रेन में रूस समर्थक अलगाववादियों को भारी उपकरण प्रदान कर रहा है।

Rahul stopped Sonia from becoming PM in 2004, claims Natwar

कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी मई 2004 में राहुल गांधी के कहने पर प्रधानमंत्री नहीं बनी थीं। यह खुलासा पूर्व विदेश मंत्री के नटवर सिंह ने एक न्यूज चैनल को दिए साक्षात्कार में किया है। उन्होंने दावा किया है कि राहुल गांधी सोनिया गांधी के प्रधानमंत्री बनने के पूरी तरह खिलाफ थे, उन्हें डर था कि अगर उनकी मां प्रधानमंत्री बनती हैं तो उनकी हत्या हो सकती है।

कांग्रेस के पूर्व नेता के नटवर सिंह ने इस बारे में अपनी किताब 'वन लाइफ इज नॉट एनफ' में लिखा है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि मेरी किताब का एक हिस्सा इस बारे में है और सोनिया गांधी नहीं चाहती थीं कि यह हिस्सा प्रकाशित हो। तेल के बदले अनाज मामले में 2005 में मंत्री पद गंवाने वाले नटवर सिंह बाद में कांग्रेस पार्टी से निकाल दिए गए थे। उनके बेटे जगत इस समय राजस्थान में भाजपा के विधायक हैं। 'वन लाइफ इज नॉट एनफ' का 7 अगस्त को पूर्व अटॉर्नी जनरल सोली सोराबजी लोकार्पण करेंगे।

सोनिया-प्रियंका ने की थी मुलाकात

कयास लगाए जा रहे हैं कि नटवर सिंह की किताब में कई अन्य सनसनीखेज खुलासे हो सकते हैं, जिनसे कांग्रेस के शीर्ष नेतृत्व पर सवाल खड़े हो सकते हैं। इस बात को तब बल मिला, जब हाल ही में कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी और उनकी बेटी प्रियंका वाड्रा ने नटवर सिंह से हाल ही में मुलाकात की थी। आधिकारिक तौर पर नटवर सिंह के नई दिल्ली के जोरबाग स्थित घर पर पिछले हफ्ते करीब 50 मिनट तक चली इस मुलाकात को शिष्टाचार भेंट बताया गया है।

और भी हैं कई खुलासे

खुद नटवर सिंह के हवाले से किताब में लिखी कुछ अन्य बातें भी सामने आई हैं। नटवर के मुताबिक मनमोहन सिंह नहीं, बल्कि नरसिंह राव की वजह से देश में आर्थिक सुधार का युग शुरू हुआ था। इसके अलावा वे अमेरिका से परमाणु करार का श्रेय भी मनमोहन सिंह को नहीं देते हैं। नटवर सिंह ने किताब में आपातकाल के लिए इंदिरा गांधी की आलोचना की है। साथ ही वे राजीव गांधी को राजनीतिक कुप्रबंधन का दोषी मानते हैं। पूर्व विदेश मंत्री ने अपनी किताब में चीन और कश्मीर नीति को लेकर नेहरू की भी आलोचना की है।

Saharanpur riots: Main accused arrested, booked under NSA

सहारनपुर के तीन दिनी दंगे की प्राथमिक जांच में इसका कश्मीर कनेक्शन सामने आ रहा है। पुलिस ने कल दंगे के मुख्य आरोपी मोहर्रम अली उर्फ पप्पू सभासद को कई साथियों के साथ गिरफ्तार कर लिया। देर रात प्रशासन ने आरोपी मोहर्रम अली उर्फ पप्पू पर रासुका [एनएसए] लगा दिया।

सहारनपुर दंगा पूरी तरह सुनियोजित था और आगजनी करने वालों में जम्मू-कश्मीर और दिल्ली से आए लोगों की संलिप्तता का भी शक है। पुलिस इसके पीछे किसी आतंकी साजिश की बात स्वीकार नहीं कर रही है और फिलहाल इन्हें मोहर्रम अली का गुर्गा बता रही है। माना जा रहा है पप्पू ने गुरुद्वारे और कब्रिस्तान विवाद में पैसों की डील न होने के चलते भीड़ को हिंसा के लिए उकसाया। दंगे के मास्टरमाइंड माने जा रहे मोहर्रम अली उर्फ पप्पू को भतीजे इरशाद के साथ गिरफ्तार किया गया। इसके बाद ही दंगे के कारणों की परते खुलती गई।

पुलिस का कहना है कि मोहर्रम अली के इशारे पर ही अंबाला रोड पर जमकर आगजनी, लूटपाट व फायरिंग हुई थी। आगजनी में इस्तेमाल हुआ केमिकल आमतौर पर कश्मीर वादी में वारदातों के दौरान प्रयोग किया जाता है। पप्पू पर इस बिंदु पर पूछताछ की जा रही है कि उसके साथ कश्मीर और दिल्ली से आए कई लोग थे। अंबाला रोड से लूटा गया सामान गाड़ियों में भरकर बाहर पहुंचाया गया।

ऐसे उकसाया भीड़ को

पुलिस के मुताबिक शनिवार सुबह मोहर्रम अली उर्फ पप्पू ने भीड़ को उकसाने के लिये कमेला कालोनी, ढोली खाल आदि मस्जिदों से माइक से घोषणा कराई कि सिख समाज के लोगों ने कुतुबशेर मस्जिद को शहीद कर दिया है। इसके बाद कुतुबशेर थाना चौक के पास सुबह भारी भीड़ आ गई। भीड़ में पूर्व सभासद मोहर्रम अली उर्फ पप्पू के अलावा पूर्व सभासद मसूद कुरैशी, आरिफ और पप्पू को भतीजा इरशाद भी शामिल थे और भीड़ को उकसा रहे थे। उनके पास आगजनी का पूरा सामान था। फायर स्टेशन को आग लगाने में और सिपाही को गोली मारने के पीछे भी पप्पू की भूमिका सामने आई है। पुलिस के मुताबिक पप्पू और उसके साथियों को दंगों में अब तक कायम किये गए 67 मुकदमों में मुख्य आरोप बनाया गया है और आठ मुकदमों में उस पर भीड़ को उकसाने का आरोप है। पुलिस 75 मुकदमों में अब तक 89 लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर चुकी है।

सहारनपुर के एसएसपी राजेश कुमार पाण्डेय ने बताया कि सहारनपुर को दंगे की आग में झोंकने वाले तीन मास्टर माइंड में से दो पूर्व सभासद मोहर्रम अली उर्फ पप्पू व इरशाद को कुतुबशेर थाना पुलिस ने मंडी थाना क्षेत्र से गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। इरशाद पप्पू का भतीजा है और उनके साथ दानिश, शाहिद, इरफान भी पकड़े गए हैं।

Pune landslide: 21 dead body and three alive recovered from malin gaon, 400 NDRF men mount rescue effort

महाराष्ट्र के पुणे में भारी बारिश के बाद हुए भूस्खलन में मरने वालों की संख्या 28 तक पहुंच गई हैं। गुरुवार को केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने भी राहत कार्यो का जायजा लिया। यहां राहत कार्य में लगी टीम ने मलबे में से तीन लोगों को जिंदा बाहर निकाला है। बुधवार को आए इस भूस्खलन में पुणे जनपद का एक पूरा गांव मलबे में दब गया था।

पुणे के डिप्टी कलेक्टर के मुताबिक राहत कार्य में बचाए आठ घायलों को पास के ही अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है, जबकि कुछ को अन्य अस्पतालों में भेजा गया है। मिट्टी और पत्थर के इस मलबे में तकरीबन 180 लोगों के फंसे होने की आशंका है। राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन बल (एनडीआरएफ) के दल अब तक मलबे से 28 शव निकाल चुके हैं, जबकि कई घायलों को अस्पताल पहुंचा गया है।

महाराष्ट्र के पुणे शहर से करीब 80 किमी दूर सह्याद्रि श्रृंखला की पहाड़ियों के बीच बसे मालिन गांव में यह हादसा बुधवार सुबह करीब चार से पांच बजे के बीच घटा। 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में एक भीमाशंकर से करीब 10 किमी नीचे बसे 46 घरों की आबादी वाले इस गांव पर पहाड़ी का एक हिस्सा टूटकर गिर पड़ा और पूरा गांव सोते-सोते ही मलबे के नीचे दब गया।

राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण बुधवार को मालिन गांव में चल रहे राहत कार्य का जायजा लेने पहुंचे थे। उनके साथ राज्य के उप मुख्यमंत्री भी मौजूद थे। पुणे के अंबेगांव तालुका में घटी इस घटना पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपनी संवेदना प्रकट की हैं। साथ ही कांग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी ने भी इस हादसे पर गहरा दुख व्यक्त किया है।

भारतीय टीम के उपकप्तान व दिग्गज बल्लेबाज विराट कोहली इन दिनों अपने फॉर्म को लेकर बेहद निराश चल रहे हैं। चौतरफा आलोचनाएं विराट के लिए मुसीबत बनती जा रही हैं और हर अगली पारी में छोटे स्कोर पर उनका आउट होना टीम को भी मुश्किल में डाल रहा है ऐसे में इस दिक्कत से बाहर निकलने के लिए विराट ने एक सीक्रेट डिनर करने का मन बनाया। किसके साथ हुआ ये सीक्रेट डिनर, आइए जानते हैं।

ये डिनर था इंग्लैंड के पूर्व दिग्गज कप्तान माइकल वॉन के साथ। कोहली ने वॉन के साथ मंगलवार रात साउथैम्पटन के एक ब्राजीली होटल में डिनर लिया। वॉन ने अब खुद इसका खुलासा एक स्थानीय रेडियो चैनल पर किया है। दोनों ने इस बात का खुलासा तो अब तक नहीं किया है लेकिन सूत्रों की मानें तो चर्चा क्रिकेट और मौजूदा टेस्ट सीरीज में विराट के फॉर्म से ही जुड़ी हुई थी।

- क्या था मकसद?:

वॉन की कप्तानी में इंग्लैंड की टीम ने 2005 में एशेज में दोबारा अपनी बादशाहत हासिल की थी। वो यॉर्कशर में उत्तरी इंग्लिश काउंटी से आते हैं और उस क्षेत्र में गेंद स्विंग और सीम दोनों ही रूप में बल्लेबाजों के सामने आती है। वॉन अपने करियर के दौरान दुनिया के सर्वश्रेष्ठ बल्लेबाजों में शुमार थे और ऐसी स्थितियों से वो कई बार निपट चुके हैं। विराट भी इस समय इंग्लैंड में स्विंग और सीम का वार झेल रहे हैं ऐसे में शायद उन्हें टिप्स लेने के लिए वॉन से बेहतर इंसान और कोई नजर नहीं आया होगा।

- जारी है विराट का फ्लॉप शो:

गौरतलब है कि विराट अब तक इंग्लैंड दौरे पर पूरी तरफ फ्लॉप होते नजर आए हैं और अब तक तीन मैचों की छह पारियों में उनके बल्ले से महज 16.83 की औसत से 101 रन ही निकले हैं। उनका सर्वाधिक स्कोर अब तक इस दौरे पर 39 रन का रहा है। एक तरफ जहां दौरे से पहले विराट को इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ सबसे बड़ी चुनौती माना जा रहा था वहीं इंग्लैंड पहुंचते ही उनका फॉर्म जैसे गायब सा हो गया।

Paraskar rape case: Poonam Pandey to be quizzed

मॉडल रेप केस ने अब नया मोड़ ले लिया है। डीआईजी सुनील पारसकर पर रेप का आरोप लगाने वाली पीडि़ता का कहना है कि पारसकर ने मॉडल और अभिनेत्री पूनम पांडे की वजह से उनका रेप किया।

एक अंग्रेजी अखबार की खबर के मुताबिक, पीडि़ता मॉडल ने पुलिस को कहा है कि पारसकर ने पूनम पांडे की वजह से उनका रेप किया क्योंकि पूनम पांडे पारसकर के बहुत नजदीक थी और वह उनकी प्रतिद्वंद्वी भी है।

अब पुलिस इस मामले में पूनम पांडे से पूछताछ करके पता करेगी कि उनके डीआईजी पारसकर के साथ किस तरह के रिश्ते थे। पूनम पांडे की तरफ से इस मामले को लेकर अभी तक कोई प्रतिक्रिया नहीं मिली है।

John kerry will meet sushma today

अमेरिका के विदेश मंत्री जॉन केरी गुरुवार करीब तीन बजे भारतीय विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज से मुलाकात करेंगे। आज होने वाली इस हाई प्रोफाइल बैठक में डब्ल्यूटीओ का मुद्दा हावी रहेगा। एक ओर भारत ने साफतौर पर संकेत दिया है कि इस मुद्दे पर उसके कड़े रुख में फिलहाल कोई नरमी नहीं होने वाली है। वहीं, दूसरी ओर अमेरिका ने उम्मीद जताई है कि भारत इस बारे में दोबारा विचार करेगा। इस बैठक में अमेरिका द्वारा भाजपा की जासूसी का भी मुद्दा उठने की संभावना है।

इससे पहले वह रक्षा मंत्री अरुण जेटली से भी मुलाकात करेंगे। शाम करीब छह बजे सुषमा और कैरी एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में बैठक की जानकारी देंगे। आज ही कैरी प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से भी मुलाकात करेंगे।

अमेरिका ने स्पष्ट किया है कि विश्व व्यापार संगठन (डब्ल्यूटीओ) में खाद्य सब्सिडी के मुद्दे पर वह भारत से काफी खफा है। अमेरिका के विदेश मंत्री जॉन केरी और वाणिज्य मंत्री पेनी प्रिट्जकर ने डब्ल्यूटीओ में भारत के रुख को बेहद निराशाजनक करार दिया। इन दोनों ने यह तो उम्मीद जताई है कि भारत के रुख में बदलाव होगा, लेकिन साथ ही छिपे स्वर में यह धमकी भी दी है कि अगर ऐसा नहीं होता है तो उसे कुछ दुष्परिणाम भुगतने पड़ सकते हैं।

भारत के एक प्रमुख आर्थिक समाचार पत्र में केरी और प्रिट्जकर ने संयुक्त आलेख लिखा है। जिसमें कहा गया है कि भारत को यह फैसला करना होगा वह एक नियम आधारित व्यवस्था के साथ है या नहीं। भारत आने के बाद प्रिट्जकर ने भारतीय रवैये को बेहद दुखद करार दिया।

डब्ल्यूटीओ के सदस्य देशों ने 31 जुलाई, 2014 तक खाद्य उत्पादों पर सीमा शुल्क तय करने के मसौदे पर अंतिम सहमति बनाने का समझौता किया था। लेकिन भारत अब अड़ गया है कि इस रजामंदी के साथ ही खाद्य भंडारण और सब्सिडी के मुद्दे पर भी अंतिम सहमति हो जानी चाहिए। भारत इस समझौते में कुछ और भी संशोधन करना चाहता है मसलन, खाद्य सब्सिडी तय करने के लिए आधार वर्ष (1986-88) तय करना।

महंगाई, मुद्रा की कीमत में बदलाव के मद्देनजर भारत सब्सिडी का स्तर तय करने के लिए दबाव बना रहा है। भारत के विरोध की वजह से अब डब्ल्यूटीओ के खाद्य समझौते के भविष्य पर सवाल उठ गया है।

अमेरिका समेत तमाम विकसित देश इस समझौते से अपने खाद्य उत्पादों के लिए एक बड़े बाजार उपलब्ध होने का मंसूबा पाल रहे हैं। समझौते के होने से खाद्य उत्पादों के वैश्विक कारोबार में 60 लाख करोड़ रुपये की वृद्धि का अनुमान है। इसका एक बड़ा हिस्सा अमीर देशों के पास जाएगा।

अमेरिका के विदेश मंत्री जॉन केरी की अगुआई में वहां का एक विशिष्ट दल भारत के साथ रणनीतिक बैठक करने आया हुआ है। बैठक में भारत की अगुआई विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज करेंगी। इसमें अमेरिका भारत के सामने डब्ल्यूटीओ पर रुख में बदलाव के लिए क्या प्रस्ताव करता है, इसे देखना दिलचस्प होगा। अमेरिकी व्यापार मंत्री ने उम्मीद जताई है कि डब्ल्यूटीओ पर खाद्य समझौते के लिए तय निर्धारित अवधि को और नहीं बढ़ाना पड़ेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर भारत सहयोग नहीं करता है तो दोहा दौर के पूरी व्यापार वार्ता पर ही संदेह उठ खड़ा होगा। समझौते से भारत के अलग हटने के कई दूरगामी परिणाम होंगे।

General Dalbir Singh Suhag takes over as the new Army chief

लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल दलबीर सिंह सुहाग ने आज नए सेना प्रमुख का कार्यभार संभाल लिया। पूर्व यूपीए सरकार ने मई में सुहाग की नियुक्ति की थी। इस पर विवाद भी हुआ था। भाजपा ने उनकी नियुक्ति के समय पर सवाल उठाए थे। हालांकि बाद में नई सरकार ने उनके नाम को हरी झंडी दे दी।

59 साल के जनरल सुहाग ने 1987 में श्रीलंका में इंडियन पीस कीपिंग फोर्स ऑपरेशन में हिस्सा लिया था। जनरल सुहाग भारतीय सेना के 26वें सेना प्रमुख बनें हैं। सुहाग को पिछले साल दिसंबर में आर्मी स्टाफ के वाइस चीफ की जिम्मेदारी दी गई थी। इससे पहले वे 16 जून 2012 से इस्टर्न आर्मी कमांडर की भूमिका निभा रहे थे।
